AdvanTec Marine is looking for a couple experienced and energetic Engineer 1 to join our Engineering department in Chilliwack, BC.

  • Our Engineer 1’s have a starting salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 per annum based on experience and an assessment during the interview stage. Increases are then reviewed throughout employment.

The Engineer 1 will report to the Engineering Manager and work along with team leads. She/he will work with and support the sales, design and production teams internally as well as external resources in the maintenance and development of product designs including drawings, models and bills of materials. Primary focus will be on product and process development for internal and external customers

 

Essential Functions for this Role are:

  • Produce models and corresponding drawings for new and existing products as needed for sales,

procurement and production teams.

  • Work with sales and engineering management to support the development of ROI business models on all

new product and process proposals.

  • Produce finalized bills of materials as needed for procurement and production teams.
  • Lead design aspects of DFMA initiatives, and regularly propose product and process improvements.
  • Provide drawings and modelling as required by sales and engineering team for proposals and baseline

reviews.

  • Produce and/or interpret Finite Element Analysis models.
  • Oversee development and prototype production of all new products
  • Provide product or process improvements on existing product
  • Prepare documentation for new products including drawings, BOM, specifications, and test plan/reports

 

Experience, Qualifications, and Skills required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience and education
  • EIT designation an asset
  • 5+ years’ working experience in an engineering capacity
  • 3-5 years’ experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with current generation Microsoft Office software
  • Marine or Naval Architect accreditation an asset (specifically outfitting and ships structural design)
  • Electrical design experience an asset
  • Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and structural design experience an asset
  • Experience with Visual ERP system an asset
  • Detailed oriented and the ability to prioritize effectively
