Safety Officer

Our client is Australia’s leading marina and shipyard and has a state-of-the-art facility in Brisbane. They offer a range of services including a specialised capability servicing the exclusive international superyacht market. Services include vessel repair, maintenance, refit and construction. This organisation in renowned for delivering a world-class facility and service to the marine industry and a genuine passion for water-based craft.

Working in the operations team the Safety Officer will contribute to providing a high-level of customer service to all clients in the marina and shipyard and ensure the facilities and services adhere to a high-standard of safety and operate smoothly.

The successful Safety Advisor will undertake the following :-

• Review , develop, implement and manage WH&S, QA, and Environmental policies and procedures
• Create and maintain SWMS, risk assessments , and registers
• Conduct general safety inspections and facilitate toolbox talks
• Communicate the requirements of HSE plans to the wider project team including staff, contractors and customers

Suitable candidates will have :-

• Proven experience in the development , implementation, and management of WH&S , QA and environmental management systems
• Minimum Cert IV in Work Health & Safety
• Previous Marina operations knowledge and boat handling skills
• Background in commercial or industrial high-risk work environments
• A High-level of customer service
